Living Your Life with Passion and Purpose

timthumb (1)
Are you living a life in alignment with your passion and purpose or is every day a struggle? If you live with passion and purpose, you feel as if you are on fire for life, and it shows in your energy and enthusiasm.
When you are doing what you love to do, work does not seem like work. Passion and purpose help you sustain your energy and draw positive situations and people towards you. This balances out your life and makes you a much happier person.
If this doesn’t sound like you and you find yourself struggling, don’t despair. It is never too late to unearth those long-lost dreams.

Discovering Your Passions

If you find that your life is lacking purpose or passion, first ask yourself what it is you most love to do. Dig out those old dreams. Life can be an amazing journey when you are living your dreams, but you can’t live them until you know what they are.
Think for a moment about your passions, those things you absolutely love to do beyond anything else in the world. Know that there is something you do better than anyone else on earth. No one comes into this life without a purpose. We are each given a life based around the purpose we are born with, and it is never too late to discover yours.
If you aren’t sure what your purpose is, ask yourself:
  • What kinds of things do I love learning about?
  • What do I love to talk about?
  • What sparks my creativity?
  • What is that one thing I do that causes me to lose track of time?
Now try this simple exercise:

Exercise for Discovering Your Passion and Purpose

Get a clean white piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
Take a deep and cleansing breath to clear your mind of any negativity or stress. Continue breathing in and out until you feel a sense of peace and calm take over. Imagine you are sitting out in the bright sun, and allow the vibrant, yellow energy to soothe your spirit. Breathe that energy in and feel the warmth and peace.
Sit quietly for a few moments. Trust that your intuition will guide you and go with the first thing that comes to mind.
Now ask your mind to reveal your true passion and purpose and write down anything that comes into your mind. This can be a word, a phrase, a sentence or even a picture or a symbol. Repeat this exercise until you write an answer that brings forth emotion.
Most of all have faith that you have an amazing gift to share with the world. Once you figure out what your gifts are and where your passions lie, you can then take steps towards the life that’s meant for you.
It’s important to make time for your dreams, because you never know where they might take you. Give yourself a few hours a week to pursue your dreams and goals and you will soon discover the joys of life.
“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
