Thought for the Day

Never fear what will become of you,

depend on no one....”

Thought for the Day

 "Don't trust the mind.

It's the ultimate Fake News.

But the heart. The heart knows.

And forgives the mind.

And blesses the mind.

And gives the mind

a place

at the table."

Why teens are kinder than you think – and how to inspire them to be kinder still

Teenagers get a bad rap, but research suggests they go beyond expectations when it comes to showing kindness and empathy

Teenagers all too often get a bad rap. But recent research from the University of British Columbia in Canada suggests that teenagers “surpass expectations” when it comes to doing kind things for other people.

The pandemic has led to a surge in people, including teenagers, volunteering in their community, which doesn’t surprise Prof John-Tyler Binfet, the academic behind the study.

“The research is really challenging this notion that teenagers are self-serving,” he says. “I’m not downplaying bullying in schools, but my focus is to find out what they’re doing well, as a way of getting more of that out of them.”

Binfet adds that acts of kindness can result in a positive impact on others, not just the recipients. His findings show positive effects on the atmosphere in schools, as well as improved student-to-student relationships and student behavior. Acts of kindness also produce a ripple effect.

How to Attract Positive Relationships (& Drop the Negative Ones, Too!)

Do you know how to attract positive relationships into your life, or do you often feel surrounded and overwhelmed by negativity?

One thing I have heard from lots of people who are interested in the Law of Attraction is that they often struggle with the negative people in their lives.  When you want to live a more positive life, it can be especially frustrating to be surrounded by people who constantly complain, or who are rude or judgmental.

I too had this experience for a long time, and I still deal with negative people from time to time.  However, I have found a few ways to improve the quality of the energy of the people who surround me.  With a little bit of tweaking, I’ve found myself surrounded by more positive folks, and the negative people in my life have either stepped back a bit or they have become more positive when I am around them.

If you would like to attract more positive people into your life, or if you would like for the negative people to make themselves scarce, here are a few things I recommend:

The Mind Can Control the Body: Body Sensations Found to Be Controlled by Psychological Stimuli More Often than Physical Stimuli

The old adage of “mind over matter” is true, according to the results of a Hungarian study. Their findings proposed that most attention-related body sensations take their cues from psychological stimuli from the central nervous system (CNS) rather than from the peripheral nervous system (PNS.)

The researchers reported that cognitive processes are responsible for body sensations such as numbness, pulse, tingling, and warmth. So, anything that adjusts one’s state of mind – such as meditative contemplation or mindful practices – can also alter these common sensations that were formerly attributed to autonomic processes.

Researchers from ELTE Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary conducted the groundbreaking study. They published their results in Physiology International in 2017. (Related: Don’t sweat the exam: Another study confirms mindfulness reduces stress.)

Are You Suffering from PAST LIFE Traumatic Stress Disorder?

Most of us know that unhealed emotional trauma can result in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and many of us have even experienced it. But, did you know that we can also carry unhealed emotional trauma from past lives? In fact, there’s a direct link between past life trauma and present day fears, phobias and panic attacks. If you’re experiencing any of these conditions, you could be suffering from Past Life Traumatic Stress Disorder!
Maybe you’re wondering, how can you carry unhealed emotional trauma from one life to the next?
Although you may live many lives and incarnate as very different characters, your soul remains with you from life to life, and even though you may not remember a thing, your soul maintains the memories from all lifetimes and keeps track of “unfinished business.” So, each time you reincarnate, you take it all with you, and this means that if you die with unhealed emotional wounds in one lifetime, you’re born with the same unhealed emotional wounds in another.

The List of Products and Foods That Have Tested Positive for Monsanto's Carcinogenic Glyphosate

Monsanto is receiving considerable global backlash after the agrochemical and seed giant was found guilty of malice and of covering the fact that their flagship product can cause cancer.
At issue is glyphosate, the active chemical ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup and Ranger herbicides. For years, evidence has been mounting that glyphosate is carcinogenic, which is quite alarming considering that it is the most widely used (and overused) agricultural chemical ever.

“Americans have applied 1.8 million tons of glyphosate since its introduction in 1974. Worldwide, 9.4 million tons of the chemical have been sprayed onto fields. For comparison, that’s equivalent to the weight of water in more than 2,300 Olympic-size swimming pools. It’s also enough to spray nearly half a pound of Roundup on every cultivated acre of land in the world.” ~Newsweek
